Sutton Place

Sutton Place

This project included new planting borders, a row espaliered of fruit trees, a new kitchen patio, steps and a turfed lawn area, with a winding path leading to a raised vegetable garden. We set an area of crazy paving, upcycling a stock of salvaged materials – with marginal groundcover planting, softening the spaces between the stones.

A circular seating patio backs onto an elevated wildlife pond – complete with waterfall, rockery, and aquatic planting. We also cultivated outer areas, converting them to wildflower meadow. We installed and painted a new shed and concrete slab base – with trellis fencing and new gate to the back alleyway. New borders were planted with a variety of shrubs, climbers, evergreen plants, perennials, ferns, wildflowers, herbs and ornamental grasses – providing year-round interest with minimal upkeep.

Brief

To completely revamp a tired and overgrown urban garden in London – making places of interest for the family to be together.
